Re: First set of undergarments

It's all so pretty! I especially love the petticoat with the tucks.

It's almost a shame to cover such lovely garments. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there a convention where there's an event everybody comes to in their underwear?

You had me at purple corset. Splendid pattern match across the busk! 8) And I'm always a sucker for a hat with peacock feathers. What a neat shape.

Re: Rainbow Dash late Victorian gala gown

An issue I can see with seaming rainbow panels for an overskirt is if any swags allow the backside to show. You might have to line the overskirt to keep it clean. I like the idea of the vertical rainbow in the back overskirt. One of Heather's overskirts is drafted to take advantage of stripes. Horiz...

Omg yes!! Browncoats forever. Off topic but awesome: When the New Horizon spacecraft exploration started on Charon, the team got to naming the features. There is a Serenity Valley, right next to the Vulcan Plain. *geeky squee*

Re: Second, more educated, opinion :)

The TV208 skirt is good for all those skirts except the brown dress which looks like it has the more asymmetrical drapery common in the 1880s. You must post pictures of your work. Your weekend sounds very exciting! Don't let the corset scare you. If you use the Dore pattern, it's all straight line s...

Re: Material for TV108

I'll second the duct tape method. I've used proper metal hoop wire joining thingies and I really prefer a 1.5 inch overlap and a few rounds of white duct tape.

Or Didn't Find...

Does anybody know what happened to the Carolina Belles website? Belle Alley or Belle Academy or something like that? I happened to think about it just now and went to look in and can't seem to find it anywhere.

Are all those (as I count them) 15 buckles down the front functional? I love the pattern on the bodice fabric. I'm now even more bummed I have to miss Archon.

Cheap silk!

If you shop for fabric at Hancock fabrics, be on the lookout for home decorator silk if you fancy that sort of stuff. I found a whole 15 yard bolt of 100% silk in the 'Spot the Bolt for Home' section (used to be Red Tag) with the spot percentage discount bringing the price down to $2.99 a yard!
