Hi Heather, Can you please give me your expert opinion on my mockup of the 1860s Ball Gown Bodice? I've made it before for someone else and it fit great, but on me it doesn't seem to fit quite right yet. My measurements were: Bust 40.5 Waist 33 Hip 43 Back width 14 I cut a size E Back and size G Fro...
That is what I did on this polonaise. There was a gap of 3 years between my cutting it out and finally sewing it up, and I had put on weight in that time. So I cut back the front using the Vest Basque bodice as a guide, and added in the vest piece. http://trulyvictorian.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_view...
I really love the shape of your hat, and the decorations you have done so far! How did you do that awesome black ruching? And I really like the braid around the underside too. Thank you all - we really appreciate your kind words. This sure was a marathon, and we don't know what to do with ourselves now that everything is finished! Val, I made my headdress in two pieces. The veil, which I bought on Ebay and dyed with tea, is on a plastic comb and anchored down with h...
Dear all, I wanted to share pictures of some of the costumes that David and I have made this year for our theatre group's production of "Great Expectations". We've never really made costumes for other people before, so this was a big challenge for us, and we are very proud of what we achie...
