Undies, everyone has to wear them.

Hello! I would like a bit of advice please, I'm making a late bustle dress and am in the process of making two new petticoats for it. I was originally just going to make them up as two separate items but now I'm toying with the idea of either putting them on the same waistband or on a yoke to reduce bulk at the waist. Has anyone else done this or should I just stick with keeping them as two separate garments?
I put mu petticoats on drawstrings, so they don't add bulk. They sit just under the waistbands of the skirts. I usually wear 2 separate ones, with a bustle on a band, then a skirt and overskirt with waistbands. It really isn't that much bulk. Just make sure you have room in your bodice to get over it all.
Thanks Heather, that's great. I had heard it mentioned somewhere and didn't know if it made that much difference that it was worth doing. Thanks!
if you put the petticoat on a drawstring do you still add the waistband?
