TV 430

Postby Quallus » Tue Apr 16, 2019 12:09 pm

How easy would it be to make this a front closing garment? I have to get myself dressed so back closure isn't an option. Thought I ask before I decide to buy.
Thank you. :)

Super easy! There is lap added to the center back seam for the closure, which is I think 1" wide. Take off the lap at the center back, making it a seam all the way up, and then add the 1" to the center front.

Another option, would be to make the closure down one of the side front seams instead of the center front. It would be more work, as these seams are curved, instead of straight. But it could be a very interesting design element.

Miss Heather,
For clarification, you said, "Add an extra 1/2" for a seam top to bottom, instead of on fold." Is that in addition to adding 1 inch to the front or do you mean 1/2" for both Left and Right front pieces?
So, glad Quallus asked this question! Thank you!

I forgot this pattern wasn't on the fold in the front. It still has a seam. So you just need to add 1" to the pattern, the same that is added to the back seam for the opening. You can see on the Back piece, how it butts out the extra 1". Take that off the back and add it to the front.

I hope that clarifies everything?

Yes! I was thinking that the one inch from the back had to be moved to the front. :D Thank you!
